Office 2021: Is there a way to distinguish between entries that belong to a “style” but have a format different from the style settings?

For example, in the screenshot below, both paragraphs belong to the “Normal” style. However, the first paragraph doesn’t adhere to the settings of the “Normal” style, yet it still belongs to it. Is there any indication of whether an entry respects all the settings of the style it belongs to or not?

Question

Thank you for the help. Is this what is expected? If so, why is there no indication from the original style, which is "Normal"?

1. Yes, that is what is expected.
2. Better ask Microsoft.

Another option is to use the Style Inspector tool; it shows applied styles plus any manual changes. I prefer it over the Style Options because it keeps the list of styles somewhat manageable.

You can use the Reveal Formatting pane, shown in your screen shot. You can display it quickly by pressing Shift+F1 (or Shift+Fn+F1 on some keyboards).

Be sure to select the "Distinguish style source" check box at the bottom.

Thank you very much for the help. The “distinguish style source” option is very helpful and provides details about the origin of the styles.
