![]() Hi, I have a number of MS Word documents that, when you open them on Computer 1 everything appears fine, but when you open it on Computer 2, the document is slightly resized, pushing images from one page to the next etc. Have tried on a number of computers and there is only one PC with the issue (Computer 2). I have been right through the File > Options list and compared configurations of Computer 1 to Computer 2 pertaining to the program itself, but the differences are not related to anything we are experiencing here. Have put some samples of the MS Word documents on MS Teams in a shared folder so we can open the one document on Computer 1 and Computer 2 at the same time, but they still appear different indicating something in the porgram itself rather than the doicument. Have done a quick repair and full reinstall of MS Office on Computer 2 but the problem still persists. Any assistance appreciated... |

Do both machines use identical printer drivers?

They were created with Adobe Acobat Standard V 2024.002.20991 64-bit as the default printer. Perhaps I should have mentioned in the OP that Computer 2 has created a large number of these documents, and this issue has only started in the last few days. Also the images above were snipped while Computer 1 and Computer 2 both had the same file open at the same time (which is attached)

This is a common issue and is caused by Word dynamically repaginating content based on a range of possible metrics inputs related to:
- Version of Word - Version of Fonts on the page - Printer driver Even on the same machine, if you tell Word to print to a different printer, it will repaginate for that printer and could then show a different pagination if your tolerances are very fine. If you have already checked both documents are printing to the same printer driver, you might want to also check the installed fonts. I get a mixture of Arial and Calibri in that sample document but you may have other fonts as well. In the case of your comparison, there may also be some edits causing a difference. The content of the AIM paragraph is where the alignment starts to go bad on the right screen shot - why is that text pushed down relative to the left screen shot? I also see a weird blue thing in different positions on your screen captures which makes me think there have been edits on the doc that make them different.

Okay I appreciate the info Guessed. I'll check that out.
The blue lines are from the other person's cursor as two users have the document open at the same time in MS Teams. |
