My screenshot shows two parallel documents, one in English and one in Cornish. In general, they keep up with each other fairly well. But p35 of the English (left) doesn't start the next paragraph on that page, whereas the Cornish doesn't. Any suggestions as to how I might solve this, please?

Sorry, a slip of the fingers. Should say 'the Cornish does and the English doesn't'!

Have a look at the paragraph settings on the "Inside this zone..." paragraph. It likely has been set to 'Keep lines together'. If you turn this off, you could reasonably expect that paragraph to split across two pages like the non-English version.

Thank you, Andrew. No, the 'Keep lines together' wasn't checked, I'm afraid, so the problem must lie elsewhere.

Thanks for that -- a very interesting document. But none of the factors it includes seem to be relevant to my situation. Really puzzling, and more than a bit frustrating.

Right, I've cracked it. For your interest and info, here's what I did.
I found that if I put my cursor after the word 'area.' and pressed Return, the cursor moved just below to start a new paragraph rather than jump to the next page. So I re-typed the following paragraph, which behaved itself by keeping five lines on that page and jumping to the next for the final two lines. Then, of course, I had one paragraph twice, so I deleted the original one from its moved-down position, then was able to move the graphic up to just underneath the retyped one, to match the Cornish version on the right. So problem solved -- though I still can't explain it in technical terms. Thanks for your kind suggestions. |

Was the graphic placed inline or did it have text wrapping on? If not inline, then the location of its anchor could be a factor in that pagination.
