every doc I open is full of red lines and red suggestions
I have had several problems with my 2021 Office Pro word and when I search for help on google what people say to do does not match what comes up for me.
I have found workarounds for what I needed. But now, ever doc I open is full of red lines and red suggestions. I found out how to turn them off in each doc but how do I get them turned off in all docs? Tks for the help - jb |

I changed the title in your question to give you a better chance of getting help.
How to post a question on this MSOffice forum Do you have tracked changes turned on? If so, turn it off and accept all changes unlell you are using it deliberately. Red lines and suggestions sounds like it might be words marked as spelling errors. If you have red squiggly lines under words, that indicates that Word things that the word is not spelled correctly. When this happens for many correctly-spelled words, it means that the setting for your proofing language is wrong. Click in one such word and then look at the language in your Status bar. Which language is picked? If the wrong language, try Ctrl+A to select all text. Then click on the language and pick the correct one. Proofing language is tricky. If this is the source of your problem, write back for more help. Spelling Checker Does Not Work! - Proofing Language Keeps Changing - Solutions |

Thank you, Charge - I do appreciate your help and it works.
I have other problems with my Office 2021 Pro and word - I go up on google and do a search to fix a problem and the advice will be something like - click on A, then B, and then C. Several times I click on A and B but then C does not show up. I have - after a lot of wasted time - found a work around. And example - I wanted to have two copies of the same doc up but be able to edit, move, copy or delete from one to the other independently and to scroll they independently. The first suggestion was to use split windows and then follow A and B and C. "WINDOW" was suppose to come up at C but it is not there. Again, tks for you help - jb |

Red lines, marks, sentences are back
Office 2021 Pro - Word - - I had posted about my doc having red lines, marks, sentences, etc, that had never been in any doc I have ever worked on before. I have used MS Word for many, many years and never had the problem before.
I opened a doc of some 200+ pages - which had never before had any red marks - except for spelling - and it had all kinds of red marks. NEVER BEFORE HAPPENED - I had changed nothing, just opened the doc. With help from Charles I was able to get rid of the marks, worked on the doc for a few hours, saved and closed the doc. I JUST NOW OPENED THE DOC AND THE RED LINES, ETC ARE BACK. What the heck is going on? - jb |

Charles, this is an example. But things in red are all kinds of other stuff - spelling, grammar, etc.
"The caretaker told him that the place where the homes were being built wasn’t on the Westfelt estate but was, in fact, on someone else’s property. All those years they had been digging clay on the wrong property." |

The whole doc is almost 300 pages - can I cut/paste just this small part? Will that give you what you want?
I have been working on two copies of the same original doc and what I don't understand is how if I saved two copies of the doc - one book 1 and one book 2 and neither had any red marks - except spelling - could open back up and have the red marks. - jb |

A couple of pages that show the problem would be fine.

Charles, here is some of what shows up - if you go to REVIEW - TRACKING - SHOW MARKET-UPS and uncheck what is checked, all the red goes away.
HOWEVER, if you then save this one THAT HAS NO RED on it and then re-open all the red comes back. - jb |

Tks Charles - it will take a while to understand what you have connected me to.
I do have a question - f you do not want tracked changes in your document,
I don't want to accept any changes at this time as I am just throwing things as I think of them on pages. Would #2 make all the red changes show up in my doc? Again, tks for the help - jb |

Change your display of tracked changes to simply show the final document.
You may have to do this each time you open the document. It is good practice to see tracked changes when you open documents. Track Changes,Options |
