I tried putting the page numbers by doing a footer edit then inserted quick parts, selected field, then page, then format 1,2,3 and applied this to page 1, then all the following pages in the file automatically appeared in correct order. I printed the complete file after that but the same page 6 error was still there. I'm afraid that with all of the cutting and pasting and editing data during the initial stages of putting this file together some kind of bug was introduced and the file is beyond repair. Earlier on when I thought the file was finished a .pdf copy was made from the .docx file. The printout of the .pdf file was clean, the numbering was correct, including page 6 and page 63. However in the .pdf file printout many of the even numbered pages margins were oriented the same as the odd pages. No help there. I'm done. Thank you for all of your attention to this.
