If the frames are coming back when you reopen the document then I would suspect you have set your attached template to 'refresh' the styles on open.

Have a look at your Templates and Add-ins dialog and confirm that you haven't set 'Automatically update document styles' to be turned on. You can either turn this off or modify the styles in the attached template to make sure they don't have frames on that style.
