Last line of justified paragraph has four words that are too widely spaced. If I unjustify that line, the whole paragraph unjustifies.

It sounds like your last line has a soft return (new line) on it instead of a hard return (normal paragraph mark).
If you put your cursor on the end of that line and press Enter does the problem resolve?
