Hello forum,
I have a word count in my status bar. I have seen on screenshots that it is possible for some to right click the status bar and select character count, but there is no such option for me. I can only check the mark for word count. I am not sure if it has to do with my Office version (2016) that this option is missing. I would like to either replace the word count in the status bar with character count as I don't need the word count or simply add a character count there. Can you help me with that, preferrably in word itself, but if via registry, then that would be okay too if you tell me where to go exactly and what keys/values to create. Thanks in advance. |

That part works for me too, though I could add character count (including spaces.) Ann |

It is not in Word 2010, either but is in the most recent versions.
You could also check the advanced properties under File > Info. |
