Hi all,
I'm doing a mathematics exploration that is somewhat like an essay. The Essay has a word limit but numbers and symbols (mathematical stuff) isn't included in this limit. Is there any way that I can count how many words are in my document without counting numbers/symbols?? Online service or script macro?? I'm quite new. I'm using Microsoft Word 2010. Thanks |

Hi Student,
You could use a wildcard Find/Replace to temporarily delete all the numbers etc. For example: Find = <[0-9,.]{1,}> Replace = nothing will delete all numbers, including those with thousands & decimal separators (though not numbers in alpha-numeric strings). Take a word count, then Undo.
