.......something else just occurred to me.....


I have a shape format on one document and I want to copy it to another document.
When I do, the format automatically changes so it becomes a picture format.
Is there any way I can copy a shape from one document and it remains a shape on the second document ?

Which operating system are you using?

Are the document file formats the same?

Are you copying just the shape or is it in a drawing canvas and are you copying the canvas to the other file?

I think this is linked to the first part of my question when you identified the various boxes for me.
I have just inserted a couple of shapes onto a blank word doc and copied them all into another document without any problem.
I think the document I am working with has some formatting features which are making it a bit special. I think I will stop there. Thanks for your help so far......
