Microsoft Word documents are not getting added to File Explorer’s Recent documents list.
They do get added to Word’s recent documents list.



This was also happening when using Windows 10. I've tried reinstalling Office and doing a repair install of Windows 10. Since then, I've upgraded to Windows 11, where the problem continues.

I am told from an Office support person that this is normal. Documents opened from within Word will not show up in File Explorer's Recent Files list.
