Word 2013--Recent documents list disappears after PC is restarted

Hi,
I have a PC with Win 7+ Microsoft word 2013.
I have problems with Recent Douments list.
Word does not display The list.
I go to File-Options-Advanced and tick Quickly access this number of docs.
Word keeps a list of docs until the PC is shut.
Upon restarting that tick disappears, no docs are shown.
I have no clue what is causing this problem.
Any help is highly appreciated.

It's possible there's a fault in your Office installation. Have you tried repairing it (via Programs & Features > Microsoft Office > Change in the Windows Control Panel)?
