The first two images (image1, image2) are of my colleague's computer. It shows a line space between the footnote and the footer in image 1, and with show symbols selected in image2, it shows the para marker. The second two images (image3, image4) are of my computer with the exact same file open. Image3 shows there is no line space between the footnote and the footer. And image 4 shows there is no para marker with all symbols shown.
