Where was the document saved?

The AutoSave feature only works with documents stored in OneDrive or SharePoint (see https://support.office.com/en-us/art...6-ae6e8088f7a5).

The option to "Save AutoRecover information every X minutes" (at File > Options > Save) is different and it is intended for cases when Word has crashed.
