Hi,
I am working at laboratory and I have file called "analysis request form" with some question such as; Customer name: Address: Sample name: Tests will be performed: and more... I was asked to add second language to this form. I would like to create word document such that when i open the file it will ask which language i need, turkish or english, than it will translate questions on the form. I don't want to use word translation feature which could also translate customer's answers. Is it possible to do that? |

Yes, it is possible and depending on the interface you want, it is probably easy enough to do with building blocks.
To set it up the basic steps are as follows. 1. Create both forms in the same document. Use Content Controls for each of the fields. Bonus points if you set the CCs up so the corresponding CCs are linked to the same xml element in an embedded XML file. 2. Save the document as a template (dotx) 3. Now select the english language form and go to Insert > Quick Parts > Save selection to Quick Part Gallery. Name it English and put it in Autotext with a Category of "Analysis Request" and make sure it is getting added to the template itself 4. Select the turkish form and go to Insert > Quick Parts > Save selection to Quick Part Gallery. Name it Turkish and put it in Autotext with a Category of "Analysis Request" and make sure it is getting added to the template itself 5. Now remove the content from the file, go to your Developer Tab and add a building block content control and configure its properties to show Autotexts with a category of Analysis Request. You should now have a form that can be configured with either content. If you included the bonus points steps, you could flip between the languages without losing data. If not, make sure you don't change the language once you start entering data on a new form.
