You can do this by creating an AutoCorrect entry. Click File | Options | Proofing | AutoCorrect Options and go to the AutoCorrect tab.
In the "Replace" box, type the string you want to be replaced as you type. In the "With" box, type the desired replacement. Click the Add button. AutoCorrect will be triggered as you press the SpaceBar in Word.
