Default Possible corrupt or damaged file

Hello all,

I recently downloaded the following app from the Microsoft store and imported a file containing my writing into it. This is what happened. Following this, I navigated to Word and received this first message. I then clicked 'Yes' and received the following message.

So far I've tried the following solutions:

I've tried Microsoft's 'Repair file' function.
I've tried Microsoft's 'Retrieve Text function'
I've tried using Open Office to open the file.
I've system restored my computer to before I downloaded the programme.
I've tried opening it in notepad and another format.

I'm running out of ideas and beginning to give up hope of ever getting my file back. Can anyone suggest other solutions?
