How Pin docs in Word 2002
OS Win 7 64bit
Office 2002 Years ago I pined documents all the time. My old pinned list is still there but now that I am back to writing again and need that self same option I'm embarrassed that I can't remember how to do it. My program is so old the online advice all post dates my system. Creating a new doc or an older one and clicking Save from the File menu or the Save icon I get the Save As window where I can park it but no pin option. If I open Word from the start button it displays all my old pinned docs but no option to pin a new document. If I right click the Word icon on the task bar it again displays the old pinned list and all open docs along with the option to "unpin this program from task bar," but not how to pin a new document. Yup, I feel like an idiot but if anyone can help I'd appreciate it. |

After a lot more trolling the internet I think that the list of pinned docs is called a "jump list". I can't get any farther than that.
My version of Word has a complete Help index but it does not contain info on pinning docs or jump lists. I'd like to thank the 34 people that took a look-see even though they couldn't help. |

I think you are talking about the Work Menu. Have a look at this page to see if that is what you meant

Right click on the Windows Logo/Start button > Properties > Enable/Disable Jump List.
The number of items to be displayed on a Jump List can be adjusted by clicking of the ‘Customize’ tab. |

Moonshine, many, many thanks. I found it just now using a different method.
Ok, got it. This isn't the way I used to do it but how little I care at this point. Open the Word program, File> Open and all your folders and docs are displayed. Left click on a doc and drag it to the Task Bar (bottom of the screen), not an icon, just to the Task Bar and it is automatically pinned. See cursing out the program does work. |
