Hi - I'm new here. Still on an old version of word. Just changed to a new computer + win 10, from win 7. When I open a document to edit, the sentence will highlight in black buwi8nt I can't edit. Protection is not on. Any ideas? thanks! |

Without actually seeing the problem document, it can be difficult for anyone to diagnose the issue. Can you attach a document to a post with some representative data (delete anything sensitive)? You do this via the paperclip symbol on the 'Go Advanced' tab at the bottom of this screen.

I don't see any evidence of sentences that 'highlight in black' and I have no difficulty editing the content. You might try repairing your Office installation (via Help|Detect & Repair). Do note, though, that Office 2003 & earlier are not supported on Win 10.
