![]() Hello. I made a .docx file that has hyperlinks to Internet webpages. I saved it as .htm so it would open as a webpage in a browser. When I click on a hyperlink, the new page goes over the referring page, and I have to use the Back button. What I'd like is for the hyperlinks to open in a new window, so the user can close those when complete, and the referring document would always be there. I've added slash-zero to the Alt+F9 field codes, but nothing happened. Anyone know what the trick is? I appreciate your help and info. Regards, leaning |

When you insert a hyperlink, click on the Target Frame button and choose New Window. You can set this as default if all links should behave the same way.
This will add a tag in the head section of the html which says <base target="_blank">.

Guessed,
That worked perfectly except the within document "Back to Top"s are also opening in a new window. So, it looks like I will have to Target Frame each hyperlink individually instead of checking the default action to jump to a new window. (I don't want the hyperlinks to an internal bookmark to open in a new window.) Thanks! Regards, leaning |

Ouch!
Yes, it sounds like you will need to manually set all the links you want to go to a new window. It is probably not that hard to automate if you know your way around macros.
