Your boss is wrong, but don't tell him/her that. Lots of stuff that can do this. I would guess that you have a very different printer driver than work. Try adding the printer driver for the printer at work to your computer at home (even if you don't have that printer). You may still have a problem, then, printing out at home.
If it is a problem with the printer driver, and you need to print at home, try saving as pdf and printing the pdf at home.
