![]() I have data that I downloaded from an online site. The numbers are coming in as General so I can't add them unless I retype each number over again. Is there a better solutions to this issue. |

Arithmetic operations will coerce text to numbers automatically, but if you want to change all in one go, select all cells - Data Text To Columns - Finish
You should now have real numbers to play with

Pecoflyer,
I did find a formula that works also, =LEFT(A1,LEN(A2)*1)*1 I like your method better, it's quicker. Thanks for your help!!! |

Thanks. Depending on what is needed there are a number of solutions to this kind of problem
BTW in the expression LEN(A2)*1 the multiplication is not necessary
