Hi,
I'm experiencing an issue with Word for Mac (v 15.34). I've created a template that applies a multi-level list to Heading styles such that headings appear: 1 Heading 1 1.1 Heading 2 1.1.1 Heading 3 In addition, I've defined the multi-level list to include the word Chapter before any Heading 1 so it appears as: Chapter 1 Heading 1 1.1 Heading 2 1.1.1 Heading 3 Chapter 2 Heading 1 2.1 Heading 2 2.1.1 Heading 3 However, if I apply this template to an existing document with heading styles (and select "Update styles automatically"), although the most of the template styles update the multi-level list features go AWOL. This works perfectly in Word for Windows but there seems to be an issue with the Mac version. Has anyone experienced similar and/or found a solution please? Dave |

I know dangerously little about Word on the Mac.
However, multilevel numbering is fussy. Are your styles set up following the directions at How to create numbered headings or outline numbering in Ribbon Versions of Word by Shauna Kelly? If so, try reattaching the template two more times with update styles. This last is pure guess. I know that when styles rely on each other in Windows it can take three copies using the Organizer to get a usable set of Styles. |
