I'm trying to set the margin between the body of my pages and the footer to 1cm:





But I'm getting inconsistent results:



Does anyone know what's going on here?

Without seeing the document in question, it's impossible to know for sure what the issue is. The footer margin certainly appears consistent across all 3 pages. Conversely, your 3rd page looks like the last paragraph might only be 4 lines long and you have widow/orphan control in effect.

This likely has nothing to do with the margins.

Looking at your screenshots, I note that you have different even and odd headers/footers and that the font size of the "Chapter Nine" in your even-numbered pages is larger.
