Hello everyone
As you may be aware, both Word 2007 and Word 2016 create "DOCX" files but the files created by them are not quite the same. If I have Word 2016, but I want my documents to be saved in Word 2007 format, how can I accomplish that without installing Word 2007 as well? I have a program on my computer that can read Word 2007 files but not Word 2016 files. So, if I receive DOCX files from other people who had used Word 2016 to save those files, and I only have Word 2016 myself, how can I convert those files to a DOCX format that a "Word 2007-only" program will accept? Is there some conversion tool available? Thanks Samuel |

I know of no way to do it. Word 2007 can open Word 2016 files.
You can save in .doc format. There may be other third-party programs out there. Can the other program read those files? You could talk to the developers of your other program and point out that it has been more than ten years. |

Yes, I was hoping that you'd know of a third-party tool (sorry if that hadn't been clear). |
