How can I stop Word from auto loading

I think that it is Microsoft way of hinting folk to purchase the latest version.

Hardly - it's not an Office issue, as such, and affects Office 2016, too.

A friend who uses Office xp Small Business from the Windows XP days and that version dose not have a problem.

I was just going to purchase Office 2016 until I saw you message which has saved me some money.
