Please correct your profile - it says you're using Windows 8, and anyone relying on that would be unable to provide the correct advice in this case. Many users have reported the Word auto-start problem, which appears to have been caused by a recent update. A more recent update (which appears not to have been installed on your system yet) corrects the problem.

Hardly - it's not an Office issue, as such, and affects Office 2016, too.

A friend who uses Office xp Small Business from the Windows XP days and that version dose not have a problem.
