Hi, all. I have done a few searches through the forums on this and haven't found a really good answer for this.
I am using STYLE SETS at a law firm. I created several versions of the same style set with different point sizes for the fonts. To create the sets, I make SURE the gallery shows EVERY STYLE that should be controlled by the style set.... including TOC1, TOC2, etc. When I load most of these style sets, all the styles load properly into the gallery and I can use the sets properly. Starting yesterday, my size 13 no longer will load any of the TOC styles except (weirdly) TOC5 into the gallery when I load that style set. All the other sets are still loading all of the proper styles and everything is present and accounted for. Is IT out to get me or is there a known bug or any ideas? Thanks! E |

Since most styles are based on the Normal style, inheritance might be the issue here. Did you include the Normal style with your style set and has it been formatted appropriately?

Thanks, Stefan.
It was included and inheritances are set properly. I *think* this all might have stemmed from one of those lame excuses like "OH, the originator of the document made the document on a Mac using Word." When new documents are made, all the styles populate properly. (This took several calls to ascertain).... it turns out it is just ONE document that doesn't pull in styles correctly. I know of other "weird events" that happen when documents don't properly originate in WINWORD... (for instance, the phantom font Times New Roman Bold which will mess everything up.... courtesy of some weirdness from WordPerfect)... so I have chalked this one up to something "weird." Any further ideas are certainly encouraged, though. Because it is LAME to blame it on conversion issues. ![]() Thanks, again, Stefan. I really appreciate your input. Em |

Well, when moving files between programs, and between operating systems, things might happen... I've never used MacWord myself, so I can't give you any specific advice, though.
If you manually modify the style(s) in the affected document, does that work?
