I cannot open in Word 2007. I no longer have Word 2007 on this computer. No problem with Word 2010 either.

Can you open it in Word 2007 in safe mode? Same problem. This is an important diagnostic. Please try it.

JimP, since the numbering is not set up attached to styles, the section break at the beginning of the second page is needed to restart the numbering.
