Hello,
I am having this huge numbering problem in word. On the first page, I have headings numbered from 1.1. to 1.5. If I position the cursor in front of the first heading and write 1.1., Word starts to number headings automatically, so if I go to the end of the heading and press enter, it continues with 1.2., 1.3. etc, so far so good. Now on the second page I want to number headings with 2.1., 2.2. etc. If I move the cursor to the beginning of the heading and write 2.2., word for some reason doesn't start to number automatically. No matter how hard I try, word refuses to number it that way. I tried every angle explained on the internet, I get results such as 2.1, 3.1, 4.1., or 2.1., 2.1., 2.1. etc. It seems that Word prevents from numbering in the 2.1. and 2.2. format. Why is it not possible to define the sequence of the second number, why can you define only the first? Many thanks for the help. |
