I am transcribing a lengthy hand written document and plan to place the transcribed text on a page opposite a scan of the original handwritten text. Short of having a section break every page, is there a way to number the pages that contain the transcribed text consecutively and have the pages that contain the scanned originals be unnumbered?

You will want to have the top of each transcription page formatted for page break before (paragraph formatting).

You will want different even and odd footers. One will have a calculated page number and the other will have no page number.

Note that calculated page numbers do not work in tables of contents or cross-references.
