I have tried editing my normal template but am having problems with file name.
I opened normal.dotm and changed margins. I opened the footer and from Insert - Quick Parts - Fields selected File name. Then back in footer I added [space] - [space] and then back in Quick Pats selected Date. The file name now showed a footer Normal.dotx - 12 Sept 2016 as I expected and wanted. Problem is that when I then opened a new blank document, the changed margins were applied, the footer showed but not as expected i.e. Doc1.docx - 12 Sept 2016 but as Normal.dotx - 12 Sept 2016 even though the title bar at the top of the screen showed the document name as Doc1.docx Saving it with a new file name and then re-opening it showed the same wrong file name again. Any suggestions as to why please? Last edited by Charles Kenyon; 09-12-2016 at 07:50 AM. Reason: Mark as solved |
