Post How to Eliminate "Click or tap to follow link." pop-up?

My question:

(Word 2016)

In a doc I am composing for a new writing job I have 4 hyperlinks. I have modified them to have no underline. I have also set "Use Ctrl + click to follow hyperlink" to null. Yet, in my doc when I roll over the hyperlink, the pop-up still appears.

I want/need to ensure this is no longer visible, ever. What am I doing wrong?

Also, I would like to have it in the doc that when the link is rolled over, the hyperlink text is underlined. (I am not sure if that is possible in a Word doc; I have seen this action on a live site - perhaps that is html/css and will have to be marked-up by a web-dev at my company, manually, that is, they are not going to be relying on my doc formatting for that, right? But, an editor will be reviewing my doc soon and I need it to mimic that action if possible before it goes live)

Thank you all in advance for any assistance in these matters. :]

It sounds like you don't need a hyperlink at all - just the text it contains. Right click and Remove Link.

Supplementing Graham's response...
There is no way to have the underlining appear on mouse-over. There is no way to remove Word's tip to click or Ctrl+click to follow the hyperlink.

If you choose to leave a live hyperlink in your document, I usually change the Hyperlink and Followed Hyperlink styles to not have underlining.
