Well, sort of. You've got the standard cursor icon, and then you have the "wait" icon--usually the mouse arrow along with an hourglass or something to indicate time passing.

When I'm in Word, the cursor flashes back and forth between the two. You can still type, and you can still select menu functions. But other options, such as say, moving a tab stop or resizing a table don't work. But I can select and drag text.

Very weird.



Just Word, no other apps.

any ideas?

ETA: Restarting the computer will fix the problem, but only temporarily. It will start back up within an hour.

First question: Does this happen if you run Word in safe mode?

yes. And I tested with both doc and docx files.
