I have designed a document with forms.
But when I email it to a different computer it applies read only and secondly it removes the protection and all the form fields can now be deleted and edited. So I put the file onto a memory stick and tried it on another pc (to see what would happen), the read only was not applied, however it was in compatible mode which I converted - and it worked. I am emailing documents out to staff all across the country and loading files onto a users PC is not an option. Some help would be very much appreciated. |

Consider changing your protected legacy form fields to content controls - http://www.gmayor.com/ExtractDataFromForms.htm will help with that, as it contains a process to make that conversion. Content controls behave differently from form fields and there are various options for protection that you might consider - named in the help file from that process. They also process more quickly than form fields in Word versions after 2010.
