I did - but all I got from them was upload the zipped folders - which of course I did. But I checked the image sizes before zipping and they were typically a fraction of the originals. I did everything I could think of to maintain quality - selected don't compress, put in upload original image files (1920x1200 at 300 ppi) etc etc.
I uploaded a PDF of the Word doc to my website so a couple of friends could look at it - the images there look great and they can even be zoomed in on a little. I figured Word should be able to do just as good a job with a filtered web page.
