Default List of Pages

Hi everyone,

I was wondering if word can automatically create a list of pages. My report has a front matter section, with page numbers in roman numerals, and then chapters with subsections. I've been using headings with the table of contents and those are working fine, as well as the page numbers.

A "List of Pages" page would look something like:

ii to XXii
1-1 to 1-6
2-1 to 2-9
3-1 to 3-3
4-1 to 4-30

While it's not a big problem to do manually, it would be nice for longer reports to have an automatic feature.

Thanks!

There is no automatic feature to do this.

I note that you are restarting page numbering with each section to have "folio numbering." Is there a reason for doing this rather than consecutive numbering?

Folio numbering is just the document standard for the company. I personally don't see an advantage over consecutive numbering, but that's how it is for now.

You might draw the attention of someone who can do something about this to John McGhie's article on Chapter Numbering. http://www.word.mvps.org/FAQs/Number...pterNumber.htm
