Okay, yeah, I'm a dinosaur. I'm updating my website and I'm including some text from my new novels. I write in Times New Roman per most publisher requirements and so my quote marks are "curved" with the slant and style different from the old "plain straight" quotes.
Which is fine, but if I copy and paste a passage into raw ascii text, the curvy quotes are misinterpreted and are turned into question marks. So my sentence looks like this: I asked her, ?What time did he phone?? Duh. So of course I've selected my entry and saved it in a new doc, so I can edit it via HTML and add the paragraph marks and so on. Fine and dandy. How do I edit my selection so that I replace the curvy quotes with old style straight quotes so that the quotes are properly copied into plain ascii? I'm using Word 2013. Thanks! |
