In Word 2010 I cannot get the Repeat Action (F4) to work when changing the spacing before or after a line. In previous versions this worked fine, if I increased the spacing above a line to 6pts, then went to other lines of text I wanted 6pts inserted above, highlighted and pressed F4, then 6pts were added. This used to work whether adding space before or after a line, and for any number of pts. This simply does not work in Word 2010. Any hints as to what I'm doing wrong?

It's working for me in 2013, and I'm fairly sure it worked in 2010. Is your F4 repeat function working for other simple actions? If so, are you certain that the lines you are selecting are separate paragraphs? You need to display hidden characters to make sure a paragraph sign ends each line, rather than the soft-return arrow.

You could also check to see whether "Don't add space between lines of the same style" is checked in the paragraph formatting dialogue.

The sections of text are definitely separate paragraphs, this is something I'd previously checked out, along with making sure the box was left unticked for "Don't add space between lines of the same style"..... The only other difference I have just actually noticed is that the default set for line spacing is 1.2. When you select the 'Line and Paragraph Spacing' drop down box, there is no tick against any of the line spacing options listed, however when I go in and select the Line Spacing Options, the default in the 'At' drop down box is 1.2... I hope that makes sense. Do you think the default in the 'At' box needs to be set at 1? or something else in the default needs to be reset.
And yes F4 is working for other simple actions.

Fyi I have just set the line spacing default to single space and left all other parameters or criteria blank. F4 or repeat action still does not work when I add spacing before a line of text, then try to repeat that action....
