I have a thesis document (Template that I used online).
I would like to create Roman Numerals for Pages 2 - 5 (Abstract to List of Figures). However it seems like there are 2 section breaks, 1 for Title and Abstract and then 2nd one for Table of Contents through to List of Figures. I do not want to display Roman Numeral (i) on Title page, however would like to display page number (ii) from Abstract to List of Figures Page. I cant seem to break the section breaks to get the above format. Any help on solving this would be much appreciated. Thanks |

See Numbering Front Matter (Ribbon)
Is the title page the actual first page of the document? Is the abstract the actual second page of the document? If so, you would want a different first page setting for the header/footer of the first section. That would not have a page number. The page numbering would be in the continuation header/footer and that would continue (Roman numerals) until the next section, where the numbering would, I presume, restart with an Arabic 1. |

why the "section break-next page" is switched to "section break-continuous"? | Jamal NUMAN | Word | 6 | 12-14-2011 03:35 PM |
