Hey all! I've been struggling with this and cannot seem to find a solution:
I have a 6x6 standard table in a Word document. Each cell has text in it - titles of news articles that are further down in the document. I want to turn these into an internal-doc hyperlink so that when clicked, the reader is taken directly to the part of the document with the corresponding article. Here's the twist - I want each whole cell to be a "button" - I do not just want a hyperlink of the text within the cell. The only workaround I have is to create a square object in the cells and use those as object hyperlinks, but when I convert to PDF, the hyperlinks do not work. Any advice on this would be much appreciated. I feel like I am almost at the solution! |

There are several ways to create a PDF from a Word document. Some of these will give different results in terms of whether hyperlinks remain as clickable objects. They may also differ in the size of that clickable area.
What method are you using to create the PDF and have you tried any alternative methods?

In my experience, Print to pdf does not keep hyperlinks while Save As does.

You are right that you are almost at a solution. You are correct on the need to put an object in to fill the Table Cell and have the hyperlink attached to that object.
As others have pointed out, the method of converting to pdf matters. Try different methods. Share what works for you here. |
