I have been working on this report in Word where is has linked values from Excel and all has been going fine until I ran into this situation.
I have some text in a cell in Excel for example as follows: This is sentence 1. This is sentence 2.It is linked to Word and displays fine in Word, as you would expect: This is sentence 1. This is sentence 2.If I change, the data in Excel to put in hard return between the 2 sentences (by hitting Alt-Enter). The data in Excel looks now like this: This is sentence 1.However, when I update the link in Word it put quotes around the item: "This is sentence 1.Is there anyway to supress these quotes. It has me stumped. If I remove the hard return in Excel and I update the link in Word the quotes go away. Any ideas? Thanks, Matt |

How did you paste in the link?
I just tested in Word 2013 using a Paste Special (linked) in HTML Format and the quotes didn't appear when I added a second row to the Excel cell.

I did a Paste Special (linked) in unformatted text, but using HTML does seem to work. Thanks!
