Well, the one thing I knew that could fix distance between text and bullet points does not work. No matter what I type in adjust indents, the distance stays the same. So haven't tried much else.
Sorry about snapping reply! It's just that this is screwing up my work, making everything take 10 times longer. Good idea. Here, check it out.. |

The problem turned out to be an extra custom tab stop at 4.89 cm, causing the text after the list symbol to skip to that tab stop.
I fixed the problem by deleting the tab stop from all paragraphs. Note that using a custom style with bullet formatting would take be easier, because it gives you control over the formatting (including tab stops).
