A couple of things:

Never, ever, work on a document on a flash drive or other removable media from within Word. Don't open, save, or print such a document.
See What happens when I send my document to someone else? Will Word mess up my formatting?
It may simply be display size and resolution; what happens if you print the documents on both computers. Does the printed document look different?
