Default Problem with document suddenly becoming wider

Good evening,

I have a document I have been working on in Word, Office 365, when suddenly the entire document gets wider. The extra white space is not usable. The document size is still set to Portrait orientation and 8.5" x 11". I did absolutely nothing to change any settings. I was just copying a table into the document and it happened. I closed the document without saving and reopened it. When it reopens, it is back to normal but after about five seconds, it adds the white space again. I consider myself pretty competent in MS Word but I've never seen this happen. I have included a screenshot of what's happening.
