Mac Word 2011 - file modification date changes on open - how to stop
When I open a Word doc, the file modification date changes even though the file was not edited. Any idea how to prevent this behavior? Preferably for all documents. I make use of file modification timestamps in by business procedures and this behavior is disruptive.

The modification date is controlled by the operating system. Typically, the modification dates changes to the current date & time when a file is opened but, if it is closed without making any changes, it should revert to the former date & time.
