I am not familiar with that process (never used it) but, after reviewing http://www.shortcutworld.com/en/win/Word_2010.html, it looks as though you should hit F8 (instead of F9) following the use of Control A.

Hope this helps. But, if not, I will stand by to learn something from the MVP posters.
