What I want is:
"Fig. 2.3. Graph of XYZ" Here '2' is the chapter number. Additionally, I am getting Figure instead of Fig. ... Please help.

Open the Caption dialogue with [Alt+S,P] or Refernces/Insert Caption. Select New label and enter Fig. (Do not type a space after it; Word will do it.) OK that, then press the Numbering button in the dialogue and check the Include chapter number.
Does that do it for you? |
