Bullets
Your bullets should be part of a multi-level list, which gets its characteristics from something called a list style. You have to edit the list style, not the individual style. The #1 reference for this is Shauna Kelley's superb website, http://shaunakelly.com/word. Follow her clear instructions to the letter.
