Default Edit Form Comments

Hi, I have a problem and have never seen anything like it. Am attaching the file. I can edit other parts of it, but the problem is that what I need to be able to edit are the teacher comments at the bottom of each page, but for some reason the text boxes are acting like graphics and I can't edit them. Document pass is 0000.

Please help! Thanks!

Hi Keo
It works fine for me on Word 2010 for Windows. However I know that does not help you. I would suggest that you replace the periods with a text form field. That way you dont have to unprotect your document to update the teacher comments.
Hope this helps.
Good luck.
Tony

Hi Tony, I forgot to mention that I'm actually running a trial version of Microsoft 2010 using Crossover. I thought perhaps it was a Mac/PC compatibility issue, which is why I tried that. No luck, though.

I'm not actually the one who created the document, they sent it to me to proofread.

So just to clarify, you were able to successfully click in the text box at the bottom of the page and edit the teacher's comments about the children?

Thanks!

Hi
I did not see a text box at the bottom of the page merely the word "Teacher" followed by a number of periods which I assumed was what you wanted to update.

FWIW, from what I see in the document, it is password protected and will not allow you to edit any of the text (without the password, obviously). OTOH, you can modify the right-hand side columns (to either "tic" or "N/A").

Otherwise, I do not see how any of the text/comments can be modified. Just my observation...

Hi JimP
You are right there is no text box by Teachers Comments so there is nothing that can be entered in a protected form. This is why I suggested replacing the period marks with a text box so that when the form is protected the text box can be updated with Teacher Comments.

Keo,
When I r-click on one of the boxes, I get an option to translate.
Clicking further, I get a translation dailog box on the right side of my screen.
It says Chinese (Taiwan).
I clicked on the Translations Options, and I could see a list to select from.
When I clicked on the little green arrow it popped up a warning about sending the document over the web, and made reference to a Microsoft Translation service.
Perhaps you can contact Microsoft and ask them if the text boxes can be edited.
Samantha, does your document also contain translation issues?
HTH,
Gary
