I would recommend using the Emphasis style rather than Italic. It is the same result but not direct formatting.
At the risk of souding like an idiot, what is Emphasis style and how do I use it..?

I have tried to find the option of italicising thorugh the replace funtion but can't seem to find it anywhere..?
